Seals

The SPCA asked me and my group to focus on the issue of "seal clubbing" as Hong Kong is one of the largest importers of fur. They wanted me to make a video showing the cruelness of how they kill the seals, to do this i made sure that there was a contrast in the pictures from happy to shocking to sad. This change of atmosphere was also shown through the music. All of the pieces I chose are well known, creating a contrast between that and the meaning behind the video.

The video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlN-x8O3ydQ "fashion kills - seals" is supposed to be an awarness video

SPCA Visit

last friday we met up with the SPCA IT manager Mr Tom Chung, to discuss what he would like us to do and how. We showed him our website, videos and posters and he wishes to change the video so it focuses more on elements that Hong Kong's public is worried about.

The video i made will be changed to focus on the issue of seal clubbing and what we can do to stop it. Another video that he suggested we do is turn the cruelty video into cases that are more relative to Hong Kong. These pictures will replace the pictures in the begining. Tom then said that he could get some footage of the inspectors to lighten up the video.

Lastly Tom suggested that we use a file sharing software called Collanos. He said it was a good way of sharing files.

cruelty - video 3

This is the third and hopefully the final version of this video. I changed the music back to the original music because it seemed to have a better effect. The one with lyrics made you concentrate too much on the words instead of the message that it was sending.

video 2

I changed the song this time as it suits the pictures. The words are about death and love and it communicates the effect to the audience that even though you will look after you animals there are some people who destroy them and poison the world.

Still a work in progress

the second part of this video will involve the spca, and how they help to prevent this "poison"

This is for a school project, this is my first draft of this. The idea of this video is to shock everybody with the cruelty presented in the photos. It is just simple effects from windows movie maker. The pictures that are in colour are is to shock the audience further as it will be a change from the sepia tone.

This is also a trial for the real video i will be making for the spca, in a way this was a story board. At first i was going to use a sad song crawling along with pictures flashing in and out, instead i changed it to fast music with pictures present on the screen for a long time. This i found is better as it keeps the audience awake and focusing on the pictures, it also helps as the music has no words and a tempo building up so the cruelty becomes more extreme.
